Google Alert – mail vote covid-19
Without a shadow of a doubt, President Donald Trump has committed to fanning the flames of misinformation spread for his own political gain. False claims abound on his Twitter feed, emboldening his base and setting a nationwide tone of hostility within today’s political discourse.
Whether or not his presidency has set our nation back years, if not decades, is not up for debate.
But Democratic leaders in California have a responsibility to defend the values of our state called into question by some of Trump’s most recent baseless claims – particularly those targeting mail-in voting and our leading technology companies.
It hardly takes a discerning eye to determine why the president has taken up these issues in recent weeks. Trump and his base have long criticized California’s homegrown technology companies as biased against conservative voices. And as November approaches and Democrats across the country, including here in Los Angeles County, maintain leads over their Republican opponents, the president is clearly concerned with losing power – and willing to suppress safe voter participation to keep it.
